IS CHRISTIANITY A RELIGION?

"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (John‬ ‭10‬:‭10‬ ‭NIV‬‬)

It’s quite clear from our opening scripture that the Lord Jesus was referring to a different type of life than that which those whom He was addressing possessed - for He was talking to living people who had life in them.

There’s a human life, a plant life and an animal life. Moreover, there’s the God-type of life - this is the life Jesus was referring to. And when reading 1 John 5:11-12 (NKJV) it gives an unambiguous explanation on this life, “And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.” The Apostle Paul further communicates in verse thirteen that, “These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life… .”

Now the question is, “Is Christianity A Religion?” Absolutely not! Christianity is the life of God (eternal life) in a human being. That's what Paul was communicating in the preceding verse and that’s also what the Lord Jesus said he had brought (John 10:10), He brought life, not a religion.

Thus meaning, your Christianity is a fellowship, a oneness, it is a divine relationship with your Heavenly Father - and not a religion, as the world would put it.

Moreover, this has always been God’s plan and desire even before the beginning of the world. Apostle Paul clearly states in Titus 1:2 (GW) that, “My message is based on the confidence of eternal life. God, who never lies, promised this eternal life before the world began.” You see that? And thank God today this promise has been fulfilled in and through you by virtue of your salvation in Christ Jesus.

Heavenly Father, I thank you for making me a special being, possessing the divine and supreme God-Life in me. Thank you for revealing to me that my Christianity is not a mere religion, but an awesome and divine union with you. Further Study
