The Truth About Generational Curses

“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” (‭‭John‬ ‭1‬:‭12‬-‭13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

Being a Christian means you’re now born again. This new birth, as our theme scripture explains, is not of blood or flesh, it is a spiritual re-birth that comes from God.

When you were born into the earth, you came through the physical birth of your biological parents. But now that you’re born again, it means you’re born of God; you proceed, you hail from God. What exactly is this new birth, one may ask? It means your spirit (the spirit man) has been recreated; the human life in you has now been supplanted by the life and nature of God. You’re a completely new and different man - you’re a special breed.

Psalm 82:6 says, ”I have said, Ye are gods; And all of you are children of the most High.“ When God gives birth to a new creature, He can only reproduce after His own kind. This means He’s made you to be exactly like Him.

Now that you know you’re exactly like God, the question to ask is, “How is God like?” Can He be sick, poor or be bound to and affected by generational curses? Absolutely not! Rather the scriptures let us know that, ”…because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing” (1 Peter‬ ‭3‬:‭9‬ ‭NIV‬‬).

As a Christian, you were not called to inherit a generational curse, but rather, you’ve been called to inherit a blessing in Christ Jesus - You’re a blessed man! The day you received salvation, any generational curse that may have been there, ceased to be in your life.

If it was said that in your family it is a norm that everyone gets diabetes and eventually, you'll also get it, refuse and say, “No! I’m a blessed man and I can only inherit blessings”. 1 John 4:7 says, ”Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.“ The Lord God has made you to be like Him in this world, thus, your life is a life of glory, blessings, wealth, riches and divine health. Glory to God.

Confession:

I’ve been called to inherit a blessing in Christ Jesus. I walk in and experience the fullness of the blessings of God always. I can never be bound to any generational curse, for the life I have now is not of blood, but of God.
