ETERNAL LIFE IS NOT LIFE AFTER DEATH

“And this is that testimony (that evidence): God gave us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who possesses the Son has that life; he who does not possess the Son of God does not have that life.” ‭‭(1 John‬ ‭5‬:‭11‬-‭12‬ ‭AMPC‬‬)

Many have thought or had the idea that eternal life is obtained after one has passed on from the earth - In The Afterlife; which is not true. This is why the accurate knowledge and understanding of the scriptures is vital for the child of God.

The succeeding verse of our opening scripture reads, “I write this to you who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) the name of the Son of God [in the peculiar services and blessings conferred by Him on men], so that you may know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that you [already] have life, yes, eternal life” (1 John 5:13 AMPC). You “already” have eternal life now, that is, by having believed in the Lord Jesus.

This is the reality which Christ has brought us into - having the life of God reside in us, today. John 6:47 (GW) says, “I can guarantee this truth: Every believer has eternal life.” It doesn’t say those who’ve passed on to the afterlife have eternal life, it says those who are believers referring to Christians on earth) have eternal life.

It is vitally important for you to know and understand this reality of truth. For the scriptures clearly convey that, “They do not know, nor do they understand; They walk about in darkness; All the foundations of the earth are unstable” ‭‭(Psalms‬ ‭82‬:‭5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬). Those who do not know nor understand they have eternal life now, won’t have this life work for and in them as it should.

The moment you understand and realise you have the God-Life in you, your prayer language, your confessions (the words you speak), your thought process, changes completely! In everything you do and say you’re conscious of the life of God in you - which is the death, poverty, sickness and disease-free life!

“And he who believes in (has faith in, clings to, relies on) the Son has (now possesses) eternal life…” (John 3:6 AMPC). This is the only requirement to obtain eternal life - believe in the Lord Jesus. And the only opportunity for man to receive salvation is while they’re here on earth. That’s the reason  we’re to preach to those around us and make known to them the gospel of the Lord Jesus - giving them the opportunity to make Jesus Lord of their lives.

Precious Father, I thank you for you’ve given me the very life you have. I’m not an ordinary being. I'm a divine being on earth functioning in dominion and power for the life of God is at work in and through me.
